This is just a space where I will write about the more personal things that I think about or am feeling. Unlike my other blog, Jazzy's Notebook, this isn't something I want to share with the whole world. So why blog about it right? Well, for my entire life I always kept journals. Wrote about my feeling and thoughts and experiences. Then, 2 of the closest people to me, read them, at different points in my life. I do not regret them reading it now. At the time I was so mad I threw all of my journals away. Years of writing gone. So, I turned to blogging. Here it is forever and I can share it or keep it private. Yes, I have random thoughts. I write about books, movies, gardening or whatever else comes to mind on my other blog. If you want light-hearted and easy going, check that one out. Here, I will share my deeper thoughts that are not all pink and easy. I usually keep the deep thoughts inside. I'd like to let them out. So here goes.

I'm back...

Oh man. Instead of figuring out how long it has been since I've written let's just skip to the reason I'm posting. :) It has been a while. I've been getting back to taking care of myself (yet again) for about 110 days now. Today's workout was Murph. This wod is very popular for memorial day amongst the crossift community. It honors a navy seal officer who was killed in the line of duty. I believe he was a crossfitter. His workout consists of running 1 mile. 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats and end it with another mile run. This is supposed to be done with a weighted vest. Maybe next year or next time I do this one I'll  have a weighted vest but for today it was just my bodyweight. (which is more than enough lol) Even though I do not crossift with others (belong to a box) I still wod in my basement or garage. If nothing else crossfit showed me how strong I was and gave me another perspective to working out. And for days like today it gives you a purpose to push yourself other than your own fitness goals.
1st mile 11:03
2nd mile 12:37
total wod 56:39

Taps the mic...is anyone out there?

Well, this is a new record. About 9 months of silence. 9 months of struggles, stress, pain, happiness, vacations, marriage, honeymoon. Goals met, goals failed. Falling down and picking myself back up. Depression and sadness. So much has gone on in these months. I'll just share the quick and dirty synopsis. I was doing great until December 2014. Pretty much until I bought my wedding dress.  Due to a situation with my mother I really did all wedding things on my own without her. I'm so thankful and grateful for such wonderful friends and sister who really have been here for me. After buying the dress I became pretty depressed and began eating my emotions. Cupcake after cupcake. I still worked out, just not consistently. I was so mentally drained that it was pretty hard for me to focus on taking care of myself. Anywhoodles, I got married in July, had a great time, went on a honeymoon and now I'm back to work. Just because the wedding is over doesn't mean my goals are expired. There is no expiration on your dreams.

Today's workout: tabatta (20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest, 8 rounds) plank, situps, ground to overhead, leg lifts, lunges, squats.  2 mile run on my lunch break in 90 degree weather. Hot as heck! Saw this truck while running, how fitting!

Update

Wow, I can't believe I haven't written here in 6 weeks! Today is 150 days in! I went to Florida towards the end of October. November just flew by! Overall I have maintained my weight and have been working out consistently. I have been hovering between 198-201 for the past few weeks. I have been struggling a bit with my eating recently. I just want to eat cupcakes, oreos and pastries. I'm going wedding dress shopping in 11 days. I thought I would be closer to my goal by now. I guess I'm just venting now. Just because I'm not where I planned to be doesn't mean I'm not thankful for where I am. I just think it's time for me to regroup and refocus. I saw this on my run yesterday and couldn't help but take a picture.

Update!

I know I haven't blogged in almost 2 weeks! It's been busy around these parts. This will serve as my weigh in and update post. I think I will post here once a week. Daily updates are getting harder to do with double workout days and trying to plan a wedding.

Today makes 100 days since starting this healthy lifestyle and logging it all. So far I am down 20 lbs. I don't have the exact inches with me right now but here is what I do have: (last wks measurements)
-2" from belly button area
-3" from high waist
-4" from chest
-5" from hips
-5" from thighs
-2.5" from arms
-5" from shoulders
my calf fluctuates between -1" or 2"

I think I won't measure myself weekly anymore. I think I'll do it bi weekly or even monthly. I will continue to weigh myself weekly though. I want to make sure I'm still on the right track.

Friday: 51 burpees 12:12, walked about 5 miles this day. Too much indulging with my diet. The scale was up 0.8lbs! Not a happy camper but it is epected. You cant out train a bad diet.

Saturday: A true rest day. No workouts. Just watching sci fi movies all day.

Sunday: Back to business. Ran 1.5 miles on my break. It felt really good. I didn't feel like I was dying. I ran up the big hill. 48 burpees in my office (supposed to be 50 but someone needed help!) 9:58. Then I did 30 min on the spin bike with at 33lb back pack on while I did one load of laundry.

Good night :)

Hooray again for posting on the same day! Say what?! LOL ok, ok. I will admit to my sins from now. I did have 3 1/2 cupcakes today. My wonderful coworker who gives Martha Stewart a run for her money baked the most delicious, fresh, moist, pumpkin cupcakes with graham cracker crust and vanilla frosting-for my birthday. There, I said it lol! Sorry! But remember my journey is about a sustainable diet that isn't too restrictive LOL! One cupcake should have been it. Not 2 1/2 more! But I'm human. I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I enjoyed every delicious flavor in each bite. Heaven in my mouth! Now onto the workouts.

Morning workout: 20 minutes on the spinning bike. 2x10 deadlifts, plank, burpees, squat jumps.

Evening workout: 3 rounds of 50 jumping jax, 10 wall squats, 10 burpees, 10 db thrusters (15lb each).
