Friday: 51 burpees 12:12, walked about 5 miles this day. Too much indulging with my diet. The scale was up 0.8lbs! Not a happy camper but it is epected. You cant out train a bad diet.
Saturday: A true rest day. No workouts. Just watching sci fi movies all day.
Sunday: Back to business. Ran 1.5 miles on my break. It felt really good. I didn't feel like I was dying. I ran up the big hill. 48 burpees in my office (supposed to be 50 but someone needed help!) 9:58. Then I did 30 min on the spin bike with at 33lb back pack on while I did one load of laundry.
Good night :)
This is just a space where I will write about the more personal things that I think about or am feeling. Unlike my other blog, Jazzy's Notebook, this isn't something I want to share with the whole world. So why blog about it right? Well, for my entire life I always kept journals. Wrote about my feeling and thoughts and experiences. Then, 2 of the closest people to me, read them, at different points in my life. I do not regret them reading it now. At the time I was so mad I threw all of my journals away. Years of writing gone. So, I turned to blogging. Here it is forever and I can share it or keep it private. Yes, I have random thoughts. I write about books, movies, gardening or whatever else comes to mind on my other blog. If you want light-hearted and easy going, check that one out. Here, I will share my deeper thoughts that are not all pink and easy. I usually keep the deep thoughts inside. I'd like to let them out. So here goes.

Hooray again for posting on the same day! Say what?! LOL ok, ok. I will admit to my sins from now. I did have 3 1/2 cupcakes today. My wonderful coworker who gives Martha Stewart a run for her money baked the most delicious, fresh, moist, pumpkin cupcakes with graham cracker crust and vanilla frosting-for my birthday. There, I said it lol! Sorry! But remember my journey is about a sustainable diet that isn't too restrictive LOL! One cupcake should have been it. Not 2 1/2 more! But I'm human. I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I enjoyed every delicious flavor in each bite. Heaven in my mouth! Now onto the workouts.
Morning workout: 20 minutes on the spinning bike. 2x10 deadlifts, plank, burpees, squat jumps.
Evening workout: 3 rounds of 50 jumping jax, 10 wall squats, 10 burpees, 10 db thrusters (15lb each).

Tuesday: Did the pic wod in the morning. On my dinner break at work I walked up and down the stairs (4 flights) about 7 times.
Wednesday: My calves are burning from all the stairs! I didn't get to wod this morning. We went out to breakfast instead. On my dinner break I went and ran a mile on the treadmill (5.5-6.5) then I did 10 minutes on the Jacob's Ladder with the 30lb back pack on. I'm done today lol.

Sunday- Walk on the treadmil for 30 minutes with the 30lb back pack on. I sprinted for the last half mile (without the back pack on).
Monday- 20 minutes on the jacobs ladder. I thought it would be a "good" idea to do this with the 30lb back pack on.....that only lasted 5 minutes! LOL I also put it back on for the last 2 minutes. That was hard! It made me appreciate firemen that much more. Their gear weighs between 75-100lbs. Here I am complaining about 30lbs lol.
My birthday was Friday and there has been one lone slice of cake in my fridge. I have nibbled at it for the last 2 days. I included it in my calorie count but I'm just sharing this because my first reaction is to think it is bad or I cheated. I'm trying really hard for the past 81 days to change that mindset. I don't want to live life with all the restrictions and waiting to get to my goal so I can eat something again. Moderation. A few bites. It doesn't have to be the whole thing. I want to be at a happy place with food. Especially during that "awesome" time of the month when all I crave are carbs and chocolate. Ok, I think I'm done for tonight. No cool pics to share. Hmmm...I might have one of the cake lol! I'll share the cake and a pic of me and my stepson who came home from college for the weekend. I can't believe how big he is!

Saturday
Do I get kudos for posting today's workout on the same day?! LOL My morning workout was the bear complex. Bear complex = power clean, front squat, push press, back squat and push press. 7 times = 1 round. I went with slightly lighter weights and focused on form. I power cleaned right into the front squat and came right up into the push press (aka pretty much a thruster) lol. After 2 rounds I added more weight. After I was done I kept adding a few more lbs to see how it felt. It felt gooooood. :)
My evening workout was spinning for 40 minutes.
Here is the pic of my morning workout:

Wednesday: I did a wod in the morning that consisted of clean and jerks and bar facing burpees. FUN! not! The c+j were actually the hard part, the burpees not so much. Later that day we went to the Big E. It is a big fair that comes to MA each year. I was really interested in the fried oreos! YUMMY! Yes it is a gazillion calories. More like 900. We walked about 3 miles there.
Thursday: Not having a great day, Just walked 1.5 miles on my break. I really needed to just run or do some heavy lifting to get my energy out.
Friday: Birthday workout in am- tabatta times. -2lbs this week. Went out for a yummy burger for lunch. Had a nice, relaxing birthday.

Friday: I really did not feel like working out. I spent the entire day cleaning out my closet and the entire house. But then I went out to dinner and ate too much. When I got home I did the bike for 30 min with a 30lb backpack. Did a few deadlifts and like 100 jumping jax.
OHH Weigh in day: -1lb, -0.5" belly button, -0.5" high waist, -1" hips, thighs, shoulders, same for arm and neck.
Saturday: I had a busy day planned. I went to Boston with my bridesmaids to look for dresses. Before we left I did 3 rounds of squats and push press. While in Boston we walked 6-7 miles! I didn't think to turn my watch on until after the first hour of walking. It was an awesome day.
Sunday: I'm still tired from the weekend. Today's workout was pretty simple. 1 lap around the indoor track as my warmup. Then walking lunges one lap. Every time I stopped I did 10 pushups. Yeah, not fun at all. LOL. I stopped 15 times = 150 pushups It took me 29 minutes.

Tuesday was a real rest day. No workout at all. I just felt tired. I needed it. I'm going to switch my schedule to the 2 days on 1 day off, 3 days on 1 day off. I was doing 5-6 days on and 1 day off. Now that I've been doing this for 2 months and have 2 workouts on some days I need to make sure I get enough rest. Exercise is only 30% of the fitness equation.
Wednesday: Back to business. Morning WOD: I thought it was going to be easy but it took me forever! Those plank jumps! KILLER! Afternoon WOD: Walk on the treadmil for 2 miles with 20lb backpack. I did sprint for a few minutes, without the backpack!
Thursday: It's Sept. 11th. One thing I have learned and kept with me from my xfit days is during days of remembrance you do a crazy workout. Veterans, cops, firemen, military, civilians-if they can fight for our freedom and ultimately give their life for us, I can dedicate a hard workout for them.
Tonight I'll walk or do the elliptical for 20-30 minutes with the 20lb backpack on. OH! I'm doing the walking with the backpack because I'm going to walk the 1/2 marathon with my good friend. That is one month away to this date! Even though this is "starting over" for me I am stronger today than I was when I originally walked the 1/2 marathon a few years ago. Honestly, I'm just doing it for fun and to spend time with a great friend. Nonetheless, I will be training for it LOL.

I dont have a 400m driveway, nor did I want to run up and down the street so I calculated how many rounds of driveway runs I'd have to do to get 400m. About 5 rounds =400m. |

Wednesday was a real rest day. No workout. Nothing. Truth be told I was having one is those days where I just wanted to eat and eat and eat. I didn't do that but it was a challenge. I literally was antsy.
Thursday wod: morning was Fran 21-15-9 thrusters and pull-ups. Thrusters felt easy. The pull-ups were my challenge. I haven't done them in about a week to ten days. Since my tooth. Holy heck did I notice a difference. Need to build that strength again. Afternoon was just a walk about a mile and a half.
Friday wod: warmup. 10 kb swings 10 double unders. 10 rounds for time. I can't do consecutive double unders -well more than 2 in a row. But I jumped did I a double then single. This took longer but I wanted to work on my double unders. Prob just one workout today.
